If you’ve followed along for a while, you already know that when Mark and I sneak away for a quick one or two night trip without the kids, there’s a very good chance we’ll end up at a corner table at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. It’s become our spot. Not the fanciest, not the most Instagrammed, but the one that feels like it was built for exactly the kind of evening we’re looking for — good drinks, good food, no rush, and an atmosphere that makes you want to linger.
So when the Halloween menu came back to the Hangar Bar this year (running now through November 9), I couldn’t not write about it.
Our History With This Bar (Including a Very Lucky Accident)
We’ve been going to Jock Lindsey’s for years at this point, and one of my favorite memories there wasn’t even planned. On one of our trips, we happened to walk in right as the bartender was in the middle of switching the menu over for the season — testing out the new Halloween cocktails before they were officially live. We got to sample a couple of the drinks before anyone else, and honestly, that’s the kind of thing that keeps us coming back. The staff there is genuinely some of the best we’ve encountered anywhere at Disney Springs. Attentive, funny, clearly proud of what they’re serving.
Our go-to order, holiday menu or not:
- The bread dip pyramid (this is non-negotiable for us — we order it every single time)
- The meatballs, which aren’t currently on the menu but we’re still holding out hope they bring them back
- A Hovito Mojito for me
- A Jock’s Old Fashioned for Mark
If you’ve never had either of those cocktails, they’re worth building an entire visit around.
What’s New on the Halloween Menu
This year’s lineup leans into the same kitschy, 1940s-explorer Halloween vibe the bar is known for, with a handful of new sips and bites added to the regular menu through November 9. A few standouts on the food side include a deviled egg and fried chicken dish, a roasted mushroom dip with hummus and pumpkin seed, and a barbacoa dip topped with fried onion straws and plantain chips — all clearly built for sharing at the table, which fits the way we like to eat there anyway.
On the drink side, there’s a new espresso martini variation with pumpkin spice liqueur, a whiskey cocktail finished with fruit-filled pearls and gummy strands, and a tequila-based margarita with a black sugar rim. If you’re someone who orders a different themed cocktail every visit just to see what they’ve come up with, this is a strong season to do exactly that.
The Decor Is Genuinely Worth Slowing Down For
This isn’t a bar that just throws up some cobwebs and calls it Halloween. The team leans hard into Jock’s “world traveler and collector” backstory — vintage lanterns, a patch of jack-o’-lanterns overhead, retro blow-mold figures, and a small army of vintage-style black cat decorations tucked into the corner that somehow feel more charming than spooky. If you’re into vintage Halloween decor at home, it might be worth grabbing a few similar pieces of your own — something like these vintage-style blow molds or tin lantern string lights would fit right in on a porch or mantel, and they hold up well for reuse every fall.
Our Honest Tip: Watch the Line
Here’s the part I always tell clients and readers, because it’s easy to get caught off guard. During peak holiday stretches — Christmas time especially — a line will form outside the door. We’ve personally never chosen to go during those windows specifically because of that, and we’d rather visit on a quieter night when we can actually sit, relax, and talk to the bartenders instead of standing in a queue at Disney Springs. If your trip lines up with a holiday period and this bar is on your must-do list, plan to arrive right at opening, or build in a backup plan in case the wait is longer than you want to deal with.
Make It Part of a Grown-Ups Trip
For us, a stop at Jock Lindsey’s is almost always part of a short, adults-only trip — the kind where we’re not managing park hours or nap schedules, just enjoying a slower pace at Disney Springs.
