Planning a Disney World vacation? If you or your spouse have served, you’ve earned some serious perks — and we’re not just talking about a pat on the back. From discounted theme park tickets to preferred rates at Disney Resort hotels, there’s a whole layer of Disney World military discounts that many families never even realize exists. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned park pro, here’s every legitimate discount worth stacking into your next trip — flights, rental cars, hotels, and the theme park tickets themselves.
We dug through the fine print on airlines, car rental companies, hotel chains, and Disney’s own military ticket program so you don’t have to. Grab a coffee (or a Dole Whip, if you’re already dreaming ahead) and let’s map out exactly how to save.

Getting There: Military Discounts on Flights to Orlando
Before you can enjoy Disney World military discounts on tickets and hotels, you’ve got to actually get to Orlando. Most major airlines offer some version of a military discount, but the benefits vary quite a bit, so here’s the breakdown.
Southwest Airlines
- Military and government fares aren’t bookable online — you’ll need to call 1-800-435-9792 or visit a ticket counter.
- Active-duty members board in Priority Boarding, ahead of Group 1.
- Active-duty travelers are exempt from the standard two-piece baggage limit and won’t pay excess, oversize, or overweight fees, as long as no bag tops 100 lbs or 80 inches (length + width + height).
- A valid Uniformed Services Active Duty ID is required at check-in.
United Airlines
- Active-duty members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Space Force, and Coast Guard qualify, along with cadets, Reserves, National Guard on active orders, and those discharged within 7 days of travel.
- Up to 5 free checked bags (depending on travel type), space-available United Club access, and priority boarding.
- A 5% Active-Duty Military Leisure Discount is available on select United-operated flights — you’ll need to verify your active-duty status in your MileagePlus profile first.
American Airlines
- Government/military fares are available in some markets by calling Reservations.
- Free checked bags with a valid military ID: up to 5 bags (100 lbs each) traveling on orders, or up to 3 bags (50 lbs each) for leisure travel.
- Active-duty members with ID board in Group 1.
- WeSalute+ members can access additional fare savings.
Delta Air Lines
- Active-duty members of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard can call 800-221-1212 for discounted fares not available to the public.
- Free checked baggage allowance for active-duty travelers, plus early boarding.
- Bags on official orders can be up to 80 linear inches; leisure travel bags up to 62 linear inches.
Frontier Airlines
- Active-duty, National Guard, and Reserve members (plus an accompanying spouse and children when traveling together) get a free personal item, free carry-on, and two free checked bags with oversize/overweight fees waived.
- Just present a valid CAC or Armed Forces ID at check-in — no extra fee to add the bags.
Allegiant Air (Allegiant Honors)
- Covers active duty, reserves, veterans, National Guard, and eligible family members on domestic flights.
- Includes up to 2 free checked bags, no oversized baggage fees, 1 free carry-on, 1 free personal item, and even 1 free in-cabin pet.
- No change or cancellation fees for active/reserve members with official orders, and full refunds if travel is canceled due to orders.
Avelo Airlines
- Active-duty members with a valid ID get 1 free carry-on and up to 2 free checked bags (70 lbs max each), plus Priority Boarding.
Pro tip: Programs like WeSalute+ can stack extra savings on top of some of these airline discounts — for example, discounts on JetBlue, Alaska Airlines, and Breeze Airways, plus 2 free checked bags on select carriers.
Luggage Recomendations
If you’re trying to make the most of those free personal item allowances, the suitcase our whole family swears by (Amazon Link) is a great option — once you remove the wheels, it fits right within the free personal item dimensions most airlines allow. Every member of our family uses one, and one of our favorite features is that the wheels are replaceable. We’ve been burned before by suitcases where the wheels wore out after a single trip — not exactly ideal when you’re relying on that bag for years of Disney trips to come.
Renting a Car for Your Disney Trip: Military Discounts
Once you land in Orlando, you’ll likely need wheels to get around — and this is one area where shopping around really pays off.
- Avis — Offers a government/military leisure rate that can save you a solid chunk off the standard rate. Full disclosure: this is our personal go-to. We’ve compared it against other companies for our own trips, and Avis has consistently come out on top for us. Government Leisure Rate: AWD code A555084
- Enterprise — Has deep military roots (the company is literally named after the WWII aircraft carrier its founder served on) and offers a U.S. Government/Military Leisure rate. We’ve used Enterprise before too, and while the rate was decent, it hasn’t beaten Avis for us so far. To get the Leisure travel discount select the government/military option during the online booking
- Alamo — Offers government and military leisure travel discounts for current federal employees, active-duty members, retirees, and veterans, bookable directly on their site with the Contract ID “U/S GOVERNMENT/MILITARY – LEISURE.” The Alamo discount code (Rate/Contract ID) for military and government leisure travel is
GOVRNR - Budget — Offers up to 35% off PAY NOW rates for veterans, active-duty, National Guard, Reservists, and immediate family through a WeSalute+ subscription. The Budget Customer Discount (BCD) code for U.S. government leisure travel is V053900
- Hertz — Offers discounted leisure rates, space-available upgrades, and complimentary Hertz Gold Plus Rewards membership for military and government travelers. The primary Hertz Corporate Discount Program (CDP) code for military and veteran leisure travel is 2306779 (or alternatively 2159159 depending on specific organizational partnerships)
- WeSalute+ / Priceline — WeSalute+ members get access to a private Priceline booking engine that compares military rates across Avis, Budget, Hertz, Dollar, Thrifty, Enterprise, National, and Alamo all in one place, with savings up to 40%.
Where to Stay: Military Discounts on Disney World Hotels
This is where things get really Disney-specific — and really worth your attention if you’re chasing the best Disney World military discounts.
Disney Resorts Collection Military Discount
For 2026, active or retired U.S. military members can save on rooms at select Disney Resorts Collection hotels for stays most nights from January 1 through December 18, 2026. Book by December 18, 2026.
- Save up to 30% at Deluxe and Deluxe Villa resorts like Disney’s Grand Floridian, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the Disney Vacation Club villa properties.
- Save up to 25% at Moderate resorts like Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, and both Port Orleans resorts.
- Save up to 20% at Value resorts and campsites, including the All-Star resorts, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.
A few important details:
- Valid military ID is required at check-in, and the military member (or spouse) must stay in the room.
- Eligible groups include active or retired members of the National Guard, Reservists, Coast Guard, Space Force, and the Commissioned Corps of the PHS and NOAA — spouses can use the discount too if they present a valid, active military ID.
- Room availability for this offer is limited, and it can’t be combined with other discounts (except the 2026 Kids Dining Plan Offer).
- Advance reservations are required, and you’ll need to call (407) 939-7830 to book.
Shades of Green Resort
For a totally different kind of on-property stay, Shades of Green is an Armed Forces Recreation Center resort located right on Walt Disney World property, operated for members of the U.S. Armed Forces, their families, and other authorized users. Eligibility extends beyond active duty and retirees — it also includes:
- Purple Heart recipients and former POWs
- Veterans with a VA-documented service-connected disability rating
- Primary Family Caregivers of eligible veterans
- Unremarried surviving spouses and certain former spouses
Shades of Green even runs a “Salute to Our Veterans” promotion during January and September for any honorably discharged veteran, subject to availability.
Military Discounts on Disney World Tickets
Now for the part everyone’s really here for — how to actually get into the parks without paying full price.
Disney Military Promotional (Salute) Tickets
Disney offers Military Salute Tickets for 2026, valid for admission from January 1 through December 18, 2026 (blocked out March 29–April 11 and November 22–28, 2026):
- 4-Day Military Salute Ticket — $409 with Park Hopper, $439 with Park Hopper Plus
- 5-Day Military Salute Ticket — $429 with Park Hopper, $459 with Park Hopper Plus
- 6-Day Military Salute Ticket — $449 with Park Hopper, $479 with Park Hopper Plus
- Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket (repeat admission through Dec. 18, 2026) — $499 with Park Hopper, $529 with Park Hopper Plus
Eligible Service Members are active or retired members of the U.S. Military, including the National Guard, Reservists, Coast Guard, Space Force, and the Commissioned Corps of the PHS and NOAA. Spouses qualify too, as long as they can present valid, active military ID.
A few rules to know before you buy:
- Up to 6 tickets can be purchased per Eligible Service Member (or spouse), and at least one of those tickets must be used by that person.
- Tickets require an advance park reservation, and reservations are limited — book yours as soon as you buy the ticket.
- Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable, and they can be purchased at participating U.S. military base ticket offices or at theme park ticket windows (tax is only added at the park window, not the base office).
Where to actually buy them: In our own experience, regular theme park tickets can be purchased right through your local MWR office — easy and straightforward. For special event tickets, like after-hours parties or seasonal events, we had to go through an online ticket request form with Shades of Green instead. So if you’re eyeing something like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or an After-Hours event, plan on submitting that Shades of Green request ahead of time. Check with your local MWR first, each one is different in how they handle their ticket sales.
For our trip, we purchased 3-Day Park Hoppers through our MWR office and then ordered our Halloween party tickets separately through Shades of Green. We got an email confirmation and were able to link everything to our party through the My Disney Experience app — by the time we arrived at our first park, both sets of tickets were live and linked to our Magic Bands. One thing worth planning around: the Shades of Green order for our Halloween tickets took a few days to process. If you’re eyeing a special event that tends to sell out fast, build in extra time to place that order early so you don’t miss your window.
Bonus: Memory Maker Discount
Eligible Service Members (or their spouse) can also purchase Memory Maker, Disney’s PhotoPass product, at a special price of $98 through December 18, 2026 — but only at theme park ticket windows, and limited to 2 per Eligible Service Member.
Quick Tips for Booking Your Military Discount Disney Trip
- Always have your ID ready. Nearly every discount on this list requires a valid military ID at booking or check-in — don’t leave home without it.
- Book early. Military room and ticket allocations are limited, so the earlier you lock things in, the better your chances.
- Compare, don’t assume. As we found with our own rental car bookings, the “military discount” from one company isn’t automatically the best deal — it pays to check a couple of options.
- Watch for blackout dates. Several of these offers, especially Disney’s ticket and room discounts, have specific blackout windows, so double-check your travel dates against them.
