If you’re already planning a Walt Disney World vacation for 2027, there’s one resort that deserves a spot on your radar. Disney has officially begun sharing new details about Disney Lakeshore Lodge, the newest Disney Resort hotel currently under construction along the shores of Bay Lake.

As someone who loves staying in the Disney bubble, I can’t wait to see this resort come to life. Between waterfront views, brand-new dining options, relaxing recreation, and incredible Magic Kingdom fireworks views, Disney Lakeshore Lodge is shaping up to be one of the most exciting resort openings in years.

Here’s everything we know so far.

What Is Disney Lakeshore Lodge?

Disney Lakeshore Lodge is a brand-new Deluxe Disney Resort scheduled to open in summer 2027.

Located on Bay Lake near Magic Kingdom, the resort celebrates the beauty of nature through classic Disney storytelling. Instead of focusing on one specific movie, Imagineers are drawing inspiration from several beloved Disney films, including:

  • Pocahontas
  • Bambi
  • Brother Bear

The overall design embraces forests, lakes, wildlife, and natural landscapes while blending them with subtle Disney touches throughout the resort.

With 967 guest rooms, Disney Lakeshore Lodge will offer everything from standard studios to spacious suites and new waterfront Lake Houses designed for larger families.

A Stunning Lobby Inspired by Nature

One of the biggest reveals from Disney is the resort’s breathtaking lobby.

Imagine walking into a space filled with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Bay Lake while natural light pours inside. Disney says guests will immediately feel connected to the outdoors through architecture, artwork, and natural materials.

Some of the details I’m most excited about include:

  • A glowing fiber-optic river flowing through the lobby floor
  • A massive blown-glass “Colors of the Wind” sculpture hanging overhead
  • Custom artwork inspired by Disney’s Pocahontas
  • River-recovered cypress wood incorporated into the furnishings

If Disney delivers on these concepts, this could become one of the most beautiful resort lobbies at Walt Disney World.

Three New Dining Experiences

Disney has also revealed several brand-new dining locations coming to Lakeshore Lodge.

Moonglade

Moonglade will be the resort’s signature table-service restaurant overlooking Bay Lake.

The restaurant will feature seasonal menus made with locally sourced ingredients, paired with gorgeous waterfront views through expansive windows.

If you’re looking for a romantic dinner or a relaxing meal away from the parks, this sounds incredibly promising.

Bay Lake Provisions

Need coffee before heading to Magic Kingdom?

Bay Lake Provisions will be the resort’s all-day quick-service location offering:

  • Specialty coffee
  • Breakfast
  • Grab-and-go meals
  • Fresh lunch and dinner options

Disney also says hidden woodland critters inspired by classic Disney films will be scattered throughout the space, making it fun for families to explore.

Paint Out Point Bar & Grill

Located near the main pool, Paint Out Point Bar & Grill will serve shareable snacks and specialty beverages.

The theme is inspired by plein-air painting, with original artwork created by Disney Imagineers after spending time sketching Bay Lake.

It sounds like the perfect place to relax after a swim.

Dandelion Terrace May Become a Fan Favorite

One feature that immediately caught my attention is Dandelion Terrace.

This two-story lounge overlooks Bay Lake and offers views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks each evening.

Inside, guests will find archival Disney artwork, whimsical dandelion-inspired lighting, and a peaceful atmosphere that’s perfect for ending a park day.

If you’ve ever wanted to enjoy Happily Ever After without standing shoulder-to-shoulder on Main Street, this could become one of the best hidden gems at Walt Disney World.

The Wetlands Recreation Area

Disney has also shared details about the resort’s outdoor recreation area known as The Wetlands.

This isn’t just another hotel pool.

The area includes:

  • Lakeside Lagoon zero-entry feature pool
  • A spiral waterslide
  • Daydream River lazy river
  • Perspective Pond leisure pool
  • Whirlpool spa
  • Interactive children’s splash areas
  • Scenic walking paths celebrating local wildlife

The children’s play areas are inspired by Pocahontas, with themed spaces called Heron Shores and Otter Springs that encourage imaginative play.

Families looking for a resort where they can easily spend a full resort day will have plenty to enjoy.

Easy Access to Magic Kingdom

Like Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Lakeshore Lodge will offer convenient boat transportation to Magic Kingdom.

That means guests can skip driving, enjoy a scenic ride across Bay Lake, and still take advantage of all the perks of staying at a Disney Resort hotel, including complimentary transportation and early theme park entry.

For many guests, being just a boat ride away from Magic Kingdom is one of the biggest advantages of staying in this area.

Is Disney Lakeshore Lodge Worth the Wait?

While there’s still plenty we don’t know—including pricing, room layouts, and booking dates—Disney Lakeshore Lodge already looks incredibly promising.

Personally, I love that Disney isn’t simply building another hotel. They’re creating a resort where nature, storytelling, and relaxation all work together. From the stunning lobby to the lazy river and waterfront dining, this feels like a destination where guests will actually want to spend time outside of the parks.

If you’re considering a Walt Disney World vacation in 2027 or beyond, Disney Lakeshore Lodge is definitely one to watch.
